today at 12noon there was the usual chime of the "electric church bell" on the first day of each month. Was aligning the K4 when it chimed, so the four of us just kinda stopped rowing a bit to let that beautiful sound sink in. It's weird though, how such a simple tune can create this sense of peace within me (: if only the church bells were working at my church each sunday.......

I miss blogging about training, so here goes......

went down to Macs at 7.30am this morning to help out with the J1s. Training for the J2s was pushed back because of the time trials. Hope muddy did okay for her events. Anyway, it felt quite relaxing just rowing around in the pond with genevieve on the advantage (other than the capping) But it sort of reminded me of the time when I just started out on a K2. remember deb? haha! The no. of times we capped in the pond, HAHA! embarrassing. but yeah, did a lot of swimming today. Anyway, the weather turned bad and it started to pour :( :( rainrainrain-ed. I was a human popsicle by the time we were allowed to train, water was really warm though. Good water conditions today and the wind wasn't that bad. Usual 4km warm up, then 2x 2km timings. The last training we did 3x 2km? .16, .41, .51 -faints. So today toot and I said that we'll have to make sure we don't degen too much for the second one.

sigh, don't know what's wrong with our rowing nowadays. Always having this phantom tilt that both of us can't explain. arghh. wasn't a good row but managed a .11 was quite surprised with the result. Didn't feel that same kind of exhilaration when we heard our timing esp when I knew we could have done better. second 2km was .21 so yeah, that fell within our target. Sorry for being so "indifferent" but I don't know, it just didn't feel... good :( sigh. K4 was an entirely different experience. me, toot, soo and meera. Did bursts etc. Haven't felt that adrenaline in such a long time... thank you girls. Though the last 200m was a bit off, I thought we did decently well. Onward to NJCC (:

End of my training post.....

GP Common test yesterday. Wasn't that bad, I think. Everytime I say that, I'll somehow mess up :( Just hoping for the best. Didn't have much time to read through my entire essay to check for errors, so just hoping that my language was okay. Did question 5: "Democracy isn't perfect, I just don't know a better system (Winston Churchill) Do you agree?" Apparently almost my entire class did that question because Mr. Chong prepared us so well on the topic of Politics (since he majored in political science in University and is now pursuing his doctorate :O) pro right? haha :D Luckily we got him this year

ARGH, CTs are approaching and I'm not even close to finishing the syllabus :( WORRIED. Well, thank goodness we don't have any random SPAs or tests next week ( LAST WEEK OF TERM1 ALREADY!) so at least I can focus on catching up with undone tutorials and do revision! I really have to find a way to enjoy mugging, or my JC2 year will be so miserable. There's one consolation though: mug -> feel smarter -> more confident -> better grades (????) ok, notice the question marks...... nonono, I'm going to do well :/ ... I have to....

Significant event of the week: COLOURS CEREMONY (wed/ 270208). Thanks team for coming down to support Eugene and me. er, hope you all didn't catch a chill wearing the jersey in an air-conditioned hall. Even with my still-bruised-and-hurting foot, I had to somehow stuff it into a pair of court shoes. Thanks Yunzhi, your court shoes with the broader front really saved me. haha! Thank goodness jianrong said that I didn't look as if I was limping (which I was) yayy.

When the photo montage of all the sports and games CCAs was played, I was excited yet nervous as I thought of our season that is fast approaching. Many batches have gone before us and have left a legacy. Last year, RJC attained a grand total of 22 National Golds. What will 2008 be like? I can't wait.

hope that JI guy will be re-captured soon. Was kinda weary to let the girls run the board walk today, but in the end we didn't run at all because of the heavy downpour. ahhhh, boys and girls, don't go out late at night! (ok, I'm becoming incoherent)
